Who knew our delightful “Buddha Baby” would turn into such a sweet, thoughtful, handsome, intelligent young man?
This theme touches me deeply. I have had so many clients in my 40 some years in private practice who are terribly damaged because the responsible adults in their lives when they were kids, told them they were “crazy”.
Their attempts at art or music were criticized.
Their young and innocent goals were diminished.
They had just imagined that abuse.
They were told often enough that they were crazy, they actually began to wonder…and that WILL drive you to MADNESS, not being able to trust your own intelligence, perceptions and intuition in your life.
(This post is dedicated to my compassionate friend in Kentucky. You know who you are and you are not CRAZY!)
Crazy by Gnarls Barkley (CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse)
I remember when
I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place
Even your emotions have an echo in so much space
And when you’re out there, without care
Yeah I was out of touch
But it wasn’t because I didn’t know enough
I just knew too much
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Possibly
And now that you are having the time of your life
Well think twice
That’s my only advice
Come on now, who do you
Who do you, who do you
Who do you think you are?
Ha ha ha, bless your soul
You really think you’re in control?
Well
I think you’re crazy
I think you’re crazy
I think you’re crazy
Just like me
My heroes had the heart
To lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember, is thinking
I wanna be like them
Mm hmm ever since I was little
Ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it’s no coincidence I’ve come
And I can die when I’m done
Maybe I’m crazy
Maybe you’re crazy
Maybe we’re crazy
Probably ooh hmm

Now that the weekly WordPress Photo challenge happens on Wednesdays, I find myself trying to combine it with my previous favorite photo challenge, Wordless Wednesday.
Wordless Wednesday has always been a great test for me because I do tend to be a bit wordy! (no…really?)
But today I can’t really find a way to join the two challenges together so try to ignore the non-sequitur-ness of this post…
Here is a slide show on Winter Growth in my neighborhood. I love seeing all the new baby branches reaching for the sky!
And here is my Wordless Wednesday post.
I call it the Breakfast Club.
I suppose if I could talk on Wordless Wednesday, I would say that my Breakfast Club is GROWING!!!
It has become so much more cooperative (and populated) every morning since the Evil Squirrels can’t climb the bird-feeder pole any longer. They tend to knock the feeder to the ground, often breaking it. And then they decimate the food supply. We installed a squirrel repellent “Slinky” on the pole and so far, it’s working.
Don’t you dare feel sorry for the squirrels. They get plenty, believe me! Those beautiful flocks of Finches (House and Yellow) knock plenty of seed to the ground for the Quail and the squirrels.
And when the Flicker shows up, he is so messy, there is a feast.
Even the Crows and Seagulls stop by for Brunch.
See? “Wordless” is a challenge for me!!
What one word describes you best?

What is set as the background on your computer?
My sweet James

If you have been to a foreign country name those you have been too?
O man, a great way to answer this question would have been to put a small photo from each country right here. But they are all paper photos, in albums, in boxes, in the storage cabinet…the absolute last things to let go of in our current downsize (and the first things to save…well, after cats and people…if there is a fire.)
But here are the countries…not very many:
Mexico-all through childhood, having grown up in San Diego
Canada-also often, having lived most of my adult life in Washington state
France-for the 1192 Paralympics, Albertville and Tignes were the two places I visited as I was then married to a cross-country ski team member who was blind. (He got the bronze.)
Fiji-twice, sailing the Southern Lau Group both times and for more than a month each time
Jamaica-three times, twice for USATAA conferences and once, a just for fun trip
This could be seen as a pretty boring list but I wonder how many STATES in the USA others have camped in? For me it is FORTY SEVEN out of fifty!
What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
