SongLyricSunday 12-10-17 Falling

So many songs came to mind but this one showed up first! Flashbacks of many road trips…barreling down highway 1…ocean on the right…sun rising on the left…singing at the top of my voice!!

I highlighted my favorite line.

Help Me
Help me
I think I’m falling
In love again
When I get that crazy feeling, I know
I’m in trouble again
I’m in trouble
‘Cause you’re a rambler and a gambler
And a sweet-taIking-ladies man
And you love your lovin’
But not like you love your freedom
Help me
I think I’m falling
In love too fast
It’s got me hoping for the future
And worrying about the past
‘Cause I’ve seen some hot hot blazes
Come down to smoke and ash
We love our lovin’
But not like we love our freedom
Didn’t it feel good
We were sitting there talking
Or lying there not talking
Didn’t it feel good
You dance with the lady
With the hole in her stocking
Didn’t it feel good
Didn’t it feel good
Help me
I think I’m falling
In love with you
Are you going to let me go there by myself
That’s such a lonely thing to do
Both of us flirting around
Flirting and flirting
Hurting too
We love our lovin’
But not like we love our freedom

Thought a blog might help me develop better writing habits so I could finally finish my book, 16 years in the writing, but so far it's mostly photos and FUN!

  1. Not unlike “Please Help Me, I’m Falling,” a 1960 song written by Don Robertson and Hal Blair and first recorded by Hank Locklin. The single was Locklin’s most successful recording and was his second number one on the country charts. In fact, sufficiently similar I had trouble telling them apart. Hmm. Interesting. And I am a Joni Mitchell fan … but I’m also a country music fan.

  2. Ah yes, barreling down highway 1, back in the days when there was hardly any traffic, singing loudly and joyously , celebrating life to the fullest!
