A very happy accident that I got while shooting hummingbirds. I almost threw this one away...Dang, all blurry, missed the Hummer…but with a closer look at the “details” I spotted the wing!
This might be my favorite all time picture and it was a complete mishap.
A great lesson here somewhere…..
The wing is beautiful. What a great submission for this prompt.
Very cool I agree 🙂
Thanks. You almost have to be “detail oriented” to even SEE it!
There are so many things I notice now that I am taking photographs that I never saw before and I also have had the experience of not seeing important things when I first look at one of them.
amazing! They are such precious creatures <3
I love my hummingbirds! And I wish I could capture pictures like you do of your birds!. I guess my little Cannon will do for now. Thanks for commenting.
I need to put up a Hummingbird Feeder- I find them so fascinating
I LOVE my Hummers. I am blessed to have them all year round, although in the dead of winter here in the Northwest, I do have to change out the feeder every day if it is below freezing. I keep 3 or 4 filled and ready to take outside while I bring in the frozen ones to thaw. After trying many different styles, these feeders are my favorites…so easy to clean and having several allows for stacking or using one at a time.

(not the only place you can get them. I just picked this site so you can see a photo.)
But I started with a window feeder (with suction cups). It is such a great way to see them up close! If you have a chair by a window where you can observe, have that camera of yours ready!! You won’t regret it!
I think this is an excellent explenation of the idiom: on a wing and prayer
Thanks. I missed this comment before. Perfect!
