Guess what I collect!
I started collecting when I was 5 years old. I had to have a corrective surgery on my eye and to encourage me to take the follow-up eye drops, my Dad wisely pointed out that I could keep the pretty blue bottle and eye wash cup when I was all done with the medicine.
I’ve been hooked on Cobalt ever since. My entire home is decorated around this vibrant glass. These photos represent a fraction of my collection…uh, OK…obsession.
I love colbalt glass. I have ONE small bottle, but then I have other things that I’ve collected and I guess I can let others have that one. 😉 My godmother had a huge collection of colbalt glass, which alas was lost in a house fire. But as a child I remember going and staring at the different pieces, the way the light shone through, making those beautiful blue shadows and thinking it looked like someone had taken sapphires and molded them into those fantastic and beautiful shapes… Beautiful collection you have and thank you for sharing it with us! 🙂
Thank you for commenting. We have a rule here if there’s ever a fire. Get the people, cats, and leaf bugs out…in that order, but go back for the blue glass and photos if there time!!
A funny story about the blue glass. People started gifting me with glass and there got to be so many, I put tiny tags on the bottom of each piece and wrote something to remember who from or the story of each vase or bottle. Cobalt takes eons to fade even in direct sunlight, but guess what disappears almost immediately.
Permanent marker!
Lots of tiny BLANK tags on my glass now…..
One of my favorite colors! I’m going to link so my readers can enjoy as well.
Thanks Dawn. I didn’t even know you could do that!
What a fabulous collection you have and what a great post for Vibrant!
Thank you so much!
Thanks Nancy. It is a pretty intense color, isn’t it?
Interesting. The blue collection is nice.
thanks!
That is really vibrant and stress-relieving))
Thanks! On our sometimes rare sunny days, I like to sit in front of the window where there are the most cobalt pieces and just stare at them. Maybe I am relieving stress? Who knew?
Maybe) I imagine how beautiful should be the reflection of the sunlight through those pieces 🙂
Cool. I love blue 🙂 Yaz
Thanks. Me too, although friends and family think I have an unhealthy relationship with Blue.
No way! Blue is 💙. 😀.
thank you for liking my post.
When I think of you, blue glass is one of the things I think of!
