Vibrant Obsession for WPC

Vibrant

Guess what I collect!

I started collecting when I was 5 years old. I had to have a corrective surgery on my eye and to encourage me to take the follow-up eye drops, my Dad wisely pointed out that I could keep the pretty blue bottle and eye wash cup when I was all done with the medicine.

I’ve been hooked on Cobalt ever since. My entire home is decorated around this vibrant glass. These photos represent a fraction of my collection…uh, OK…obsession.

Thought a blog might help me develop better writing habits so I could finally finish my book, 16 years in the writing, but so far it's mostly photos and FUN!

  1. I love colbalt glass. I have ONE small bottle, but then I have other things that I’ve collected and I guess I can let others have that one. 😉 My godmother had a huge collection of colbalt glass, which alas was lost in a house fire. But as a child I remember going and staring at the different pieces, the way the light shone through, making those beautiful blue shadows and thinking it looked like someone had taken sapphires and molded them into those fantastic and beautiful shapes… Beautiful collection you have and thank you for sharing it with us! 🙂

    1. A funny story about the blue glass. People started gifting me with glass and there got to be so many, I put tiny tags on the bottom of each piece and wrote something to remember who from or the story of each vase or bottle. Cobalt takes eons to fade even in direct sunlight, but guess what disappears almost immediately.

      Permanent marker!

Lots of tiny BLANK tags on my glass now…..
